Haiku the Robot (Corrupt Mode) - Atom Fight
0Finally got around to playing Corrupt Mode in Haiku the Robot and finished the game (just got to remember to go back for 100%!). I meant to get to this sooner as I had a blast originally playing through the game. It's been months since I last played so I'm not sure if Atom is a slightly faster version of the Virus (I remember the Virus getting some nerfs) but in some cases Atom is easier since it doesn't have that drill wall to dash through and its P3 dives don't leave projectiles.
With 1 HP I had more deaths than expected, especially with how often I forgot how bosses worked (so many instances of "oh right, the boss dashes after that move"). Plenty of dumb deaths falling into enemies too.
Corrupt Mode sets your hp to 1 (you can find temporarily health boosts), removes most NPCs (so nothing to really buy except sealant/heat treatment), and saving at a new spot costs 100 scrap. Some chips are moved around and HP boosting chips are removed. The pocket magnet chip helps enormously to keep the half scrap lost on death where you died to get it back. It's really the early game that hurts the most since the distance between save points can be quite far if you do something foolish and die.
