The Xash3D engine is an open-source replacement for the GoldSource Engine offering massive improvements such as dynamic lighting, transparent and aesthetically pleasing water, extended map, model, sound, texture formats. It overall stretches and overcomes the limits of the GoldSource Engine.

It is like the Svengine for Sven-Coop, but pretty much better.
