Most people don't associate Half-Life with consoles, but Valve's legendary shooter actually got a truly excellent console release when Gearbox ported Half-Life to the PlayStation 2! The fact that you have to play with the HD models may irk purists, but the PS2 version runs great, looks great, did an admirable job of creating workable controls that feature a handy lock-on system (a little bit like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time), and even allowing for classic mouse/keyboard controls!

The real star of the show, however, is the exclusive Decay campaign. This unique two-player adventure puts players in the shoes of two other scientists in the Black Mesa research facility, aiding Dr. Gordon Freeman at the very beginning, before the resonance cascade incident sends everyone scurrying for their own survival! Decay puts both players in brain-teasing puzzle situations that require cooperation and skill to survive, and shakes up the basic Half-Life formula in entertaining ways! It can also be played solo, by toggling between characters on the fly. I'm playing today with a mouse and keyboard, for MAXIMUM SKILL!!

On a totally unrelated note, I recently reviewed 100 different games in a 10 minute video! Check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_d1Ph0tEQ4
