0Again, I like horror games and in rare cases, Horror mods because the fact you can get scared by the simplest of things, But I have yet to have found anything as tense and scary in modding like They Hunger and this gem from 2007, It's not as popular as Cry of Fear but it did have a prequel made for it a year later. https://www.moddb.com/mods/mistake
Mistake was released sometime in 2007 and was one of the last mods of the classic era of Half-Life mods to run on both a early version of Steam and the WON retail version of Half-Life, You control a mental patient named Steve who is in the Andrew Parker Asylum, Strange things are happening and it's time to escape.. and for those wondering, No I don't think Afraid of Monsters is that scary or fun.
The mod gives a Silent Hills Vibe of psychological and noise horror as you explore the Asylum, You gain a flashlight and a knife but you don't attack monsters til much later.. Some parts require backtracking due to locked doors or areas that are blocked, The mod does get very hard later on with some stealth parts but I have finally found..A mod that actually made me feel uneasy, Finally.. That nice feeling of being afraid.
