It's finally here: Halo Escalation issue 10, and along with it, the end of the "Next 72 Hours" story arc. This issue also marks the end of Brian Reed's tenure as writer for the comic. And honestly, I have to say good riddance. He started off well with the issue about Gabriel Thorne visiting New Phoenix, but these last three issues have been nothing short of horrendous.

While I will say this issue was a bit more enjoyable than the last two, the overall arc was a giant waste of time. The plot doesn't advance much, if at all, instead setting up future stories. This would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the characters don't really change much either. The Didact is still the same (albeit more "Bond villain" like) and John hasn't really changed since the end of Halo 4.

Anyway, enough of my rants. You'll see plenty of that in this video (if you haven't watched it already).
