Being one of the highest-grossing video game franchises, it is no wonder that the Halo universe is dubbed as Xbox's "killer app". For the purpose of information, a “killer app” is a terminology used for any “computer program or software that is so necessary or desirable that it proves the core value of some larger technology”.
So when the announcement came from Xbox and 343 Industries that Halo Infinite, which was supposedly to be launched together with Xbox Series X, will be postponed until some unknown time in 2021, speculations and rumors started to circulate online.
One such rumor is that the game might not be available to Xbox One due to the difficulties in the game’s development compatibility for the old and new generation consoles. There are even speculations that the game release will be delayed further until 2022.
