Hard OFFing at Sano, Tochigi! | PSOne Monitor BOUGHT & FIXED!!
I took a trip out to Hard OFF in Sano, Tochigi—a location that doesn't list its retro game stock online, making in-person visits (or videos like this one!) the only way to see what treasures it holds. 🕵️♂️
The software selection was solid, with a wide range from Super Famicom classics to the latest PS5 titles. While nothing ultra-rare popped up, the condition and pricing were competitive overall. The hardware section? Equally impressive, with a great mix of current-gen and retro consoles—and some standout deals.
One of my best finds was a Game Boy Player for just ¥550 and a Sony PSOne monitor (SCPH-130) for ¥13,200, sold as junk due to a broken hinge. I brought it home, fixed it up easily, and now it's working perfectly— below the usual market price!
If you're into Japanese retro game hunting, this video gives you a look at a shop that’s truly off the grid.
