87I’m back at Surugaya in Honjo, Saitama! Surugaya stores are solid stores to buy retro game in Japan. This Surugaya shop updates stock regularly, and this visit didn’t disappoint! My top pickups include a Crystal Sony DualShock 3 controller and Valis IV for the PC Engine—both in great shape and at reasonable prices.
Surugaya has games for every platform: PS1, Famicom, Game Boy, PC Engine, Switch, and more—including plenty of handheld and console stock. If you're into Japanese retro game hunting, this is the kind of store you want to hit often.
On the way home, I stopped by a smaller but surprisingly solid BOOK OFF in Fukuyama, Saitama—a local shop with a small but quality selection. I scored Metroid II for the Game Boy for just ¥900, and they had some great deals on PS5 software too.
