Greetings fellow gamers! This is Gamer Guy (In a Suit) from the Echo Army YouTube channel! Today I am bringing you a review of the dark and gritty Western, Turn Based Strategy game Hard West. Hard West was released by Developer CreativeForge Games and Publisher Gambitious Digital Entertainment.

(NOTE: This game was NOT reviewed using a key provided by the Developer and/or Publisher, it was a game I purchased for my own account)

The "Too Long, Didn't Watch" Review:

Solid Western take on the Turn-Based Strategy style. More than just "XCOM" in the Wild West.
4/5 and worth the $20

The "Meat & Potatoes" Review:

Hard West is, at first glance, just another take on the Turn Based Strategy genre that has seen an uptick since the popularity of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Don't sell this game short though, it is it's own beast for sure. This is a western with a twist! It's dark. I mean, demon-dark. There is GREAT story going on here. The gameplay is superb. It's Turn-Based Strategy, but there are some great mechanics in play as well. One being the "Card" system. Each charterer can carry cards (Essentially, you'd like to build a poker hand) that add to your perks. The perks can boost attributes during the Combat scenes. The visuals are grand and the sounds are great as well. This score is fantastic. I am really excited to play this one and very happy about it. In between battles you explore the area and mine for gold, learn more about the town and story, have your choices make for consequences, etc. There is a lot to do here and it seems as if there may be multiple stories/endings to pursue as well. Fans of Turn Based Strategies and Westerns are going to simply LOVE it. A western gem for the genre. 4/5 and loving it. Spend your $20 without regrets.

Happy Gaming!!!
