This was news to me as well. Journey along with me as I discover. We can learn the same thing.. kinda.

On the Cerbios tool options not working correctly, it occurred to me shortly after that they weren't working on the BFM version as I recall. So maybe it is just an incompatible console revision altogether. That might be it, I'm just too lazy to track down the thread at the moment.

Well, either that or I was under the false impression that you no longer needed to jump the pins on the power to the DVD drive if you patched the bios. That's probably it. I don't know. I intend to keep my drives intact regardless. If they don't work, replace them. That was one of the main things that made these things special back in the day; being able to pop in a game and duplicate it to the harddrive.

As for the flashing program I was using, it probably works. I would think that once it flashes the chip then it shuts down the connection. I should have tried it here but I was more curious to find if it worked out correctly. I'll surely try this mod again eventually and maybe test that theory. However, I probably won't know if the specific version I was using in this video was the cause. Regardless, I'll try to replicate it in the same use-case scenario by instigating a flash immediately after having already done so. But my guess is the SMC plays a part in triggering the connection to end.

I think that clears up the remaining questions I had to myself, for the most part.

Kudos to all of those whom worked/are working on this project and all of those who created different tools to get us all here.
