Scottish Bex is back in Episode 8 of her Hardspace Shipbreaker solo series, now at Cutting Rank 9 and still going strong at Hazard Level 5. This time, she’s facing a brand new ship type — the Heavy Cargo Javelin, The Luminous McGuire, previously owned by Hudson Industry and valued at a solid $18.3 million. Bigger, more complex, and packed with even more potential for chaos… what could possibly go wrong?

But the episode isn’t just about cracking open a new class of ship — there’s a personal touch this time. Weaver has passed down a gift: Buela, a beloved old ship that’s seen better days. And for the first time, Scottish Bex begins collecting the mysterious floating parts scattered throughout the yard, piecing together the story of Buela and giving purpose to all those odd bits she’s been seeing for days.

Back on the job, it’s not long before a new hazard makes itself known — a massive fuel tank. It’s the biggest yet, and cutting it free without triggering a fiery demise is easier said than done. Timing, technique, and a little bit of luck all come into play as Bex tries to figure out how to handle this volatile beast without blowing herself (or half the ship) to bits.

With new tech, deeper lore, and rising danger, this episode marks a turning point. Will Bex master the art of large fuel tank removal and make Weaver proud? Or will this Javelin take her down in a blaze of glory?
