Harry Potter and the Prison of Azkaban, Part 4 (Conclusion)
Here is the finale of Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban for XBox. If you ask me, the ending of this game is rushed. I wish we could have fought the Whomping Willow, Sirius as "The Grim," Lupin as a werewolf, Pettigrew, and even Snape. The game would've done a much better job of building towards the climax if it included these scenes. Instead, we get a few cut scenes, Harry dragging Sirius around (a bad waste of time), and an extremely easy dementor fight. So yeah, the conclusion of this game is not great. It's nowhere near the amount of excitement that Chamber of Secrets provides.
Having said that, this game does have some good qualities. Being able to play as multiple characters with different strengths and weaknesses makes for interesting gameplay, but it could have been done a whole lot better. Terrible AI, with characters constantly getting in your way and being a nuisance more than helpful is a huge problem. Now look, I'm still criticizing this game even when I'm trying to be positive. Sorry! It's just that after how great Chamber of Secrets was, it's hard to be positive about this one.
If this is the only Harry Potter game you ever play, you'll probably like it. It does have good graphics, and the gameplay is passable. But when you know that Chamber of Secrets came out before this game, and this game takes several steps backwards in both gameplay and plot development, it's hard to not get frustrated.
Anyway, moving forward, the next Harry Potter game I will play is The Goblet of Fire on XBox, and oh man, if you thought I criticized this game, just wait...JUST WAIT!
