Have a Nice Death is a 2D action roguelike where you play as an overworked Death, whose employees have run rampant, completely throwing off the balance of souls - and his vacation plans. In order to restore order, you'll have to grab your trusty scythe and show your employees who's boss.

Why Early Access?
“After the release of our previous game, Unruly Heroes, we were very excited to try a different approach to how games were made. From the moment we came up with the concept for Have a Nice Death, we’ve been excited about creating a game with the help of our players. We wanted everyone to be able to play our game and feel confident that their feedback would be heard. It would both enable us to be more ambitious, as we could invest in a project for a longer period of time, as well as show that we care about our community and what they bring to the development process. This is why we think developing Have a Nice Death in Early Access is key to making it the best game it can be.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“Currently, we are aiming for Early Access to last approximately one year. This doesn't mean that the game will not have any support after the game fully launches, but we believe that Have a Nice Death will feel complete then.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“Version 1.0 of Have a Nice Death will be feature and content complete, with a concluding narrative, the full measure of gameplay elements, and additional components: Difficulty mode, accessibility options, new specific curse tree, new curses, new worlds, new enemies (bosses and mini bosses) and new weapons.

Finally, Early access is an opportunity to build the main storyline and to answer the main question “will Death manage to have some rest?” and resolve the mystery behind the Sorrows’ unrest. You can look forward to meeting different weird and funny employees of Death, Inc and experiencing the setup for the story through surprising, flavorful events and interactions.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Many of the systems are in place, all that’s needed is more time to create more content.

Currently, the game feels like how the full release should. There are several worlds, each filled with their respective bosses (Sorrows), their minions, as well as fun NPCs, but we want to push the variety and difference between each run as it is a rogue-like. This means more variation and content in the worlds and their bosses.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“No definitive plans here yet, but we intend to raise the price for the final version as we’ll add new content and features over the course of Early Access. If all the content we have planned makes it into the final version of Have a Nice Death, it will be more than twice as large as it will be at the start of Early Access. Any changes to the price will be clearly communicated before they are made.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“We'd like to create as many opportunities as possible for the community to engage with our team and provide feedback in all aspects of development, from the gameplay to the story to the technical stability. We will be listening, discussing, and incorporating your feedback/ideas/inspirations from start to finish. We’re extremely excited to see what our community comes up with to help Have a Nice Death be the best roguelite it can be!!
