Have You Ever Played Call of Duty: WWII? (2017 - XBox One)
We are taking a trip to the year of 2017 when Call of Duty: WWII was released. This video was created for journalistic purposes.
I've decided to continue on with the Call of Duty franchise. I have to say, though, I'm almost getting quite a sense of whiplash going from Infinite Warfare and going into this title which is in the past. It really felt like how the older Medal of Honor games played (not to mention the earliest entries of the Call of Duty franchise).
Probably the biggest surprise is the return of useable health items. I've grown so accustomed to the abandonment of collectible health items in favour of the much lazier regenerative health system that I didn't think I'd ever see that return in the Call of Duty franchise. As I noted in this game, yup, it's back to my surprise.
In case I wasn't quite clear in the video, the strategy I like to employ with health items is that I would wait until the full amount of health in the health item would be used to restore health. Anything over top of that can seem like a waste. So, I'm looking for using a health item that doesn't quite restore my health completely, but gets quite close. That way, I know I got the full mileage of that health item.
Anyway, I wanted to hear from you. If you played this game, what did you think of this one? Was this a refreshing blast from the past or did you think leaned too much into the old school style of shooters?
For those who have played other Call of Duty games, but not necessarily this one, what did you think of what you saw here? Does this look like an interesting game for you to play or does this deviate too much from the other titles released around the time when this was released?
Also, for those who have no experience with the Call of Duty franchise, what are your thoughts on what you saw? Does this look like a game you can totally see yourself taking on or does this look like just another dime a dozen World War style games? Let us know in the comments below!
