Wine 1.8-steam_crossoverhack is necessary to install Hawken because other versions of Wine crash the steamwebhelper.exe which will not allow you to browse the store and add Hawken.

Once you have installed Hawken, you can change to a different version of Wine.

Hawken ran perfectly in PlayOnLinux. It is developed with Unreal Engine and looks beautiful. I hope the developers plan to release a Linux native version, but until then, you can play for FREE with PlayOnLinux/Wine.
