FireFall is a free to play 3D fast-paced fantasy game mixed with both MMOFPS and MMORPG genres. The game was developed by Red 5 Studios and published by the same company.

FireFall features both a large, open-world cooperative campaign that can be shared with hundreds of other players as well as a competitive multiplayer component that will incorporate features such as ladders, tournaments, clans and leagues. Players can gain equipment and level up in order to fight better. According to Mark Kern, the CEO of Red 5, the game tries its best to integrate both vertical and horizontal progression, meaning that at higher levels your character is still able to be threatened by a lower level player, but will still have an advantage in equipment.

Classes in Firefall are called Battleframes, and at the time there are 5 playable classes / battleframes:
1.Assault
- The Assault Battleframe features the plasma cannon as its main weapon. Its unique alternate fire options include scattershot: a close range spray, triple shot: a three shot burst and nova: a chargable shot with a slow but powerful impact.

2.Recon
- The Recon Battleframe, a light class focused on using sniper rifles, has the lowest health of the battleframes and the highest jetpack capacity. The recon is notable for its ability to cause extremely large amounts of damage particularly at long range, utilizing headshots.

3.Engineer
- The Engineer Battleframe utilizes placed equipment to deal damage and assist allies, as well as a repair gun to keep its deployed equipment alive. Currently, the frame has been seen using turrets, repair stations, and shields to help on the battlefield.

4.Medic
- The Medic Battleframe features a healing gun as its main weapon, which is used in a similar fashion to Team Fortress 2's respective medic class. The unique alternate fire options for the healing gun includes a vampiric beam, which drains the enemy of life, an overhealing beam that can increase an allies health beyond their standard copacity and a healing grenade that creates an area effect of healing where its aimed.

5.Dreadnaught
- The Dreadnaught Battleframe has the most health of the current battleframes. It is a large, tank-like battleframe, using an immense chain gun. Current abilities of the dreadnaught include turret mode, which plants the frame in a single spot allowing faster and more accurate aiming, a shield to help reduce incoming damage, and repulsor blast which is said to knock back enemies and cause them damage in an area surrounding the frame.

A player is not locked to one particular class on character creation; they can switch between Battleframes at certain stations throughout the game world. Another aspect of the game are modules and ability backpacks, which the player can use to customize their weapons and abilities to fit their play style. Each Battleframe must be leveled up separately.

PvP Maps and Game modes:
Currently there are four announced PvP (player vs player) arenas for players to participate in:
1.Sunken Harbor:
- The first of the announced areas, is a simple team deathmatch map. This map consists of two 5-player teams attempting to kill the enemy players a total of 25 times, while playing over the remains of broken ships and stalagmites. To score a point, an enemy player must first be incapacitated (or "downed"), and then executed. If the downed player is not executed, other players on their team have a set amount of time before the downed player bleeds out and the opposing team scores a point (as if the player had been executed).

2.Orbital Comm Tower:
- Orbital Comm Tower is showcased a capture/defend style of gameplay. One team defends three capture points while the other team attacks. If the defenders keep the defense up, until the time runs out, then they receive the win for the round, while the attackers win only by occupying all three stations. After the first round, the teams switch sides. The new attackers must try to beat the completion time of the previous team to win the round.

3.Blackwater Harvester:
- This arena features capture and hold type gameplay. Two teams attempt to control the three buildings on the map, each of which give points to whichever team controls them over time. The map is in a jungle area. A boost unit will sometimes spawn, which players may take to one of their controlled bases for temporary boost to points (that base produces points faster).

4.Moisture Farm:
- This arena includes a team death match style gameplay, similar to that of Sunken harbor, but instead of having fixed spawn placements, the player is spawned in a random position across the map.
