He-Man reboot dumped to Netflix, skipping theaters?
#HeMan #MOTU #Sony
After having had the movie rights for a decade, and going through countless different iterations and creative teams, it finally looks as though Sony will indeed move forward with a He-Man and The Masters of the Universe reboot. However, you might not be able to see it on the silver screen, for they are contemplating releasing it straight to video – or rather, straight to Netflix. Why would Sony do something like that to a property as inherently cinematic as Masters of the Universe?
In this editorial @AndreEinherjar will cover why Sony is ditch a theatrical release, how it ties in with the streaming wars, and what Netflix, as well He-man rights holder Mattel, may feel about all of this.
