Headless Bloodletting Beast - Flamesprayer, Oil Urn & Bone Marrow Ash!
5The "Headless Bloodletting Beast" is an unstoppable brute of a boss.
My adrenaline was pumping throughout this fight and this was a truly satisfying victory. A feeling only a Souls or Borne game can provide.
He seems unstoppable to begin with and extremely aggressive, but with strategy and adrenaline you'll make it through.
Stage 1
Bait his attack by keeping distance if he does not approach you. This will cause him to do the easiest attack to counter "Poison Back Attack". At this point close in on him and get at least three hits.
When he approaches you, roll once straight under him and then roll twice to the right, circling round him to the right. This should avoid all of his attacks he finishes with a slam. At this point lock on, turn and get at least three hits.
Rinse and repeat.
Stage 2
The easiest stage as his attacks are exactly the same but there should be two opportunities to reign down an attack on him. He pauses to suck in what appears to be arcane energy, at this point you can do a 7-8 hit combo at least!
Furthermore he will get staggered at one point entering this stage, where you can land 5-6 hits. At this point I used Oil Urns and Flamesprayer too which can stun lock him quite nicely!
Stage 3
BRUTAL STAGE; He will become extremely aggressive and a snake like creature limb will emerge from his head. This means you can bait him too much at the front and definitely DO NOT stay under him for too long. Best tactics are to bait him and roll/dodge past the snake. You can also land a couple of hits on the snake limb once it has retracted if your close. Then follow the same rolling technique you used in stage 1 to evade and counter.
He will also (whilst under him) charge forward more in a combo attack, at this point roll straight under his legs, you will end up behind him where you can land 4-5 hits.
You need luck, focus and nerves of steel to best stage 3 so keep on your toes!
