Heavy Rain Predicted Over Next 48 Hours
2The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that new low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal and near the Southern Andaman Sea on Saturday. The IMD has warned that the low-pressure would intensify in the next 48 hours. Heavy rain is predicted in isolated areas in Kerala for the next five days. Rain alert has been issued for districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Malappuram. Rain is expected in the coming hours in hilly areas as well as coastal lines, as westerly winds have intensified. At present, a yellow alert has been sounded in 10 districts of the state. Rain is expected in seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki and three districts, ie, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Wayanad.
