Hellboy: David Harbour Interview

The pressure is on for the new Hellboy movie this weekend. It can't be easy adapting  source material with a major, hardcore fanbase and, on top of that, the Neil Marshall-directed film also faces the challenge of following the Guillermo del Toro films which featured an unforgettable performance from Ron Perlman as the Right Hand of Doom. Finding the right actor to fill his shoes was of the utmost importance for this new movie and in that department, Marshall and his team knocked it out of the park by recruiting Stranger Things star, David Harbour.

Harbour has absolutely no trouble carrying the extensive make-up effects and costume work in addition to Hellboy's brute and sass as he takes the character into battle with Milla Jovovich's Nimue, The Blood Queen. She's a resurrected sorceress hellbent on vengeance with all of humanity vulnerable in her path of destruction.

With Hellboy hitting theaters nationwide on April 12th, I recently got the chance to sit down with Harbour to talk about his experience making the film. He revealed the most challenging parts of his Hellboy look to get used to, the "intense, weird place" he has to go to when he's acting, what it was like shooting the troll battle oner, and more. You can catch it all in this video interview!
