The new Hellboy uses a script that's described as a "true collaboration" between screenwriter Andrew Cosby and Hellboy comic creator Mike Mignola. There are scenes and dialogue that come straight from the source material, but there are also elements that deviate from the comics, like Daniel Dae Kim's role in the film. In the comics, Kim's character Daimio and Hellboy never even share a page but in the film, Hellboy (David Harbour) reluctantly joins forces with the BPRD team commander in an effort to put a stop to Milla Jovovich's Nimue, The Blood Queen.
Hellboy is due out in theaters on April 12th so I recently got to sit down with Kim and opted to play a round of Collider's "Would You Rather."
