Helldivers 2 has been one of the wildest live service games I've played in 2024 and 2025. From amazing co-op moments to complete balance meltdowns, it’s been a... chaotic ride. So how does it all hold up today, right after the release of the Control Group Warbond?

In this review/retrospective, I'll be taking a hard look at Helldivers 2 in its current state - the good, the janky, and everything in between. We’ll talk about the core gameplay, bugs, weapon and stratagem balance, monetization, and whether the recent updates have actually improved the experience or just shuffled the same problems around.
