While Microsoft has been very generous when it comes to Game Pass games wherein we see big third-party releases available on day one, that won't be the case for Helldivers 2.
Gamers wondered if the game would be available on the Game Pass subscription, but the developers confirmed that it would not.
The developers have explicitly stated that there are "no plans" to bring the game to the subscription service. While Helldivers 2 will be available on Xbox, it will be a standalone purchase, not part of the Game Pass library.
The game will not support crossplay and cross-progression, but the basic version will be sold for $39.99, which is affordable compared to other Xbox games.
Arrowhead Game Studios Community Manager Baskinator confirmed this on the game's official Discord server (via TheGamer). When a fan mentioned how they were "pretty sure" the title was confirmed for Game Pass, the studio employee clarified it by replying, "Definitely not," and added that there are "No plans to bring it to Game Pass."
Helldivers 2 is expected to rise in popularity on Xbox Series X|S, as it was one of the most popular games on PlayStation and Steam in 2024.
