This game is Hellfire. It is a side scrolling shooter developed by Toaplan, published by Taito, released in the arcades in year 1989. One of the major unique features found in Hellfire was the ability to fire in different directions by swapping the colour of your ship. There are many upgrades and powerups that can be found which also change your ships appearance upon collection. These powerups range from upgrading your fire power, creating a shield barrier that protects you from a single attack, spawning a small assist robot to attack your enemies and adding ammunition to your laser cannon. The game's music was composed by Tatsuya Uemura.
