Hellpoint is a dark and challenging action RPG set in a heavily atmospheric sci-fi universe where the line between science and occultism is blurred.
Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods.
You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge.

Hellpoint is a dark Sci-Fi and RPG game with heavy elements of Horror, it's an ambitious mix between dark souls and dead space, the game takes place on the irid novo space station which is orbiting a supermassive sinister black hole, this station is considered to be the most successful human achievements, but unfortunately now it's crowded with interdimensional creatures, those creatures are victims of the merge, an incident that led to the blend of parallel universes, causing these creatures minds and bodies to be joined together with other versions of themselves from alternate realities.
and that's where you come in, you are a slave who doesn't have a soul. you've been mechanically printed by the cryptic author and given a mission to discover the blasphemous events that led to this massive cataclysm.
the game's world is well crafted and designed to give you the feeling of a nightmarish horror game so I'm totally digging the dead space vibes. also the lighting has been handled pretty good with some dark areas and danger lurking in the shadows and behind every corner, not knowing what you're about to face, is it a regular enemy or a huge enemy that will kill you with two hits. and that's the game's moment to shine, its darkness and horror and atmosphere separates it from other souls like games.
one of the innovative things that i love about this game is the black hole clock at the top left side of the screen, and since the black hole have a major effect on the station you're gonna have to keep your eyes on the clock, the yellow circle indicates the current time, and when this circle reaches that hand symbol, secret doors will open and unavailable locations will be available all thanks to the black hole's light, these locations will be distinguished by a yellow wall.
and when the indicator reaches the hell Hour which is on the left and right part of the clock you'll see the clock turning red and that's where you run for your life, nah seriously, in the Hell Hour , mini bosses will appear, a horde will attack the station, and some enemies locations will change.
not to mention that every path you take in hellpoint puts different bosses in your way, meaning if you don't wanna miss any content you'll probably have to replay the game. which is worth it in my opinion.
Gameplay Wise, this game plays exactly like you except any souls like game to do? you have 3 bars, stamina, health and like the surge we have an energy bar . so attacking , dodging, blocking and Sprinting will use your stamina so you'll have to perfectly time all of your actions, the energy bar is used for weapons abilities. both ranged and melee.
overall the combat in Hellpoint is strategic , it feels smooth and a bit faster than other souls-like games, it's satisfying, challenging at some points but also rewarding. the animations are also smooth and they work exactly as they're supposed to, the sound design in hellpoint is effective especially in empty areas and boss fights.
now there are a lot of things that I did not cover in this Preview,
hopefully I'll be able to make a review when the game finally comes out, and in my opinion this game deserves your attention, I mean I'll be playing this while I'm waiting for elden ring, so if you're looking for a souls-like game this would be the most perfect choice.
