529I’d like to announce I started a Patreon where you can get access to exclusive content like frequent updates that give you a look behind the scenes, ad-free videos, audio tracks of all my videos, Q&A videos and commentary tracks that explain in detail how I make my videos. If you support me at the 2 dollar tier, you’ll also get access to the community Discord. You can even get your name (or preferred nickname) in the outro of my next video when you support me at the 25 dollar tier.
It’s my dream to make the channel my full-time job and that’s where Patreon hopefully comes in. To be completely transparent, the ad-revenue from my videos has always been very inconsistent and greatly depends on the performance of my newest video. Sometimes my videos perform well, but other times they don’t do great at all. Needless to say, I don’t make much money with ad-revenue alone. Certainly not enough to pay for bills and food.
Luckily, the channel’s growth has given me the opportunity to do brand deals for about a year now and this certainly helps to mitigate any costs associated with the channel/business (software, hardware, accountant, etc…). It also allowed me to hire a professional writer to help me produce better videos. However, it’s difficult securing good and reliable brand deals as they also greatly depend on the performance of previous videos. Therefore, my goal with Patreon is to secure a stable income so I don’t have to worry every month if I’ll be able to pay my bills, my writer and everything else that comes my way.
