HeMakesMePlay - Disco Elysium Final Cut Episode 47 - Crabman
This time on Disco Elysium: We crack a password, talk to a crabman and appreciate silence.
We have spend the last episode exploring the northern parts of the church so this time we head down south. Or maybe it's East. Whatever.
We don't get far before we are stopped in wonderment at the sight of a strange arrangement of plates filled with water and connected with wires. As we step into the very center of the formation (because of course that's what we do) an unfamiliar absences of sound strikes us. Even shouting or stomping our feet doesn't break the near-silence here. How curious. Even more so when we notice movement in the shadows above. Something lurks in the rafters!
We talk to it. Turns out Tiago is no crab man at all. He is however a competent climber, a Villalobos and very much into his fictional version of good old Doloris Dei, the "Mother of Silence". He tries hard to lead us back to the right and sober path. Maybe he has a point.
Like any good youth counselor he tells us about his past in gangs and how through woodworking and love for the mother he finally managed to escape the clutches of that life. After hearing his story we interrogate him about the mainframe device. Though he is not familiar with the device he shares his knowledge of the operator with us. He even heard her say the password!
Armed with this knowledge we take a second look at the Mainframe device and get to read a wonderful little log of the experiences the author made in this part of town over the last month.
That is until she shows up in person. Soona isn't happy.

HeMakesMePlay is a gaming channel focused on slow-paced gameplay to facilitate extensive descriptions and reading out loud for the benefit of Marius, who is blind. Since we all enjoy discussions on strategy and game design, they make frequent appearances in our videos.
The role-playing video game Disco Elysium features an open world and dialogue-heavy gameplay mechanics. The game is presented in an isometric perspective in which the player character is controlled. The player takes the role of a detective, who suffers from alcohol and drug-induced amnesia, on a murder case. Since the Final Cut update it is fully voiced and includes even more weird, political quests!
