Hexen Deathkings of Dark Citadel Cleric Playthrough 16 - Dark Citadel (The End)
For the last level, i was disappointed. Few waves of the same enemies (Slaughtaurs / Dark Bishops / Reivers), and titular Deathkings (they're old friends from Necropolis- Zedek, Traductus and Menelkir). And all in small arena. And thats it. To spice battle a bit, i used Dark Servant against Zedek.
I was suprised that Servant won (without my interference, of course). But in Traductus case, i didn't let him use a Wraithverge, knowing how devastating that weapon is. And Menelkir, i underestimated him once and paid for that. In second attempt i simply used Icon of Defender and blasted him into oblivion.
The end-a Cleric finds a Chaos Sphere, which teleports him away somewhere (but who knows where?)
What can i say about whole game? I played many classic FPS (mainly Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem) and how i missed Serpent Rider Trilogy, is beyond me. I was positively suprised by Hexen.
Three characters with different traits (i.e. Fighter will have a better use of Mesh Armor than Mage, who on other hand can gain more AC from Amulet of Protection than Fighter; how Flechettes worked depends of class, which is nice) and weapons, items that can be stored and used later (BUT as you can see, there were few items i didn't used even once- Porkalator was one of them;on other hand some items were too powerful, like Icon of Defender or Krater of Might),
My favourite opponents were:
1.Dark Bishops -they looks badass in those robes, can fly (and blink often) and shoots with wave pattern bullets(think again, if you are safe behind cover, but also its pattern instigates a monster infighting)
2.Reivers, but i have an ambivalent attitude towards them. They're forcing me to keep vigilant, because they just keep respawning in those graveyard areas. And their fireballs hurts! A lot!
And my least favourite opponents are:
1)Reivers, the same reason as above
2)Centaurs were manageable, but Slaughtaurs? If not ability to shoot projectiles from shields, those two enemies could be indistinguishable from each other. Even with their vulnerability to Flechette, they are at least fun enemy to deal with.
What game is next on my list? Let's see......oh Heretic can be next.
