This video demonstrates an unconventional use of the shooting mechanics for helicopters, allowing the destruction of ground vehicles out of direct line of sight. The essence is that by switching to the Shooter (ATGM) view and then transitioning to the External View, you activate a target point on the map corresponding to where you were looking in Shooter (ATGM) view. You can select a target and then move around freely, including hiding behind trees, all while keeping the target point unchanged. Since most helicopters with a battle rating of 10.0+ have a ballistic computer linked to the targeting point for their cannons, this allows firing at the selected point without visual contact with the target. The only caveat is that it won't work if the target is moving. So, before employing this tactic, try to immobilize the target by disabling its tracks or engine. Note that in most cases, this tactic might not be effective, as many cannons lack sufficient penetration and accuracy. This tactic is mainly effective for the 2A42 cannon, which is mounted on Soviet helicopters like the Mi-28 (and its variants), Ka-50, and Ka-52.
