3Ah yes, the high wall is at times easier as a spell caster, and at times quite a bit more annoying. You can generally one shot most of the rabble here with great soul arrow, but the tougher enemies with shields can prove troublesome.
If as a spellcaster you're having trouble with enemies that are optional.. sneak past them, I show how to do so very easily in this session. The first knight by the tower bonfire is the easiest as long as you don't go the low path. The winged knight will be a challenge if you face it this early regardless of your class.
As a side note, if you are worried about being invaded non-stop like the old days, don't worry until the covenant areas. I don't think it's a problem if you don't summon phantoms. It can still happen you're just at the bottom of the list if I understand the system correctly.
