This is it, the big Kahuna, the final boss awaits us! Soul of Cinder is if I'm understanding it correctly, an amalgamation of all the previous undead who linked the fire. Meaning all their souls just kinda... congealed together? I'm not a sorceror I don't know what soul energy does but.. something like that.

As for the actual fight, it's honestly not that difficult. The hardest thing for me in this whole boss fight was finding a time to hit him in the first phase. His first phase is the hardest for me without question. In said first phase "they" have multiple weapons they'll employ.

The most common seems to be the longsword phase, for most weapons this is a paradise. It's attacks are easy to dodge, ample time to punish... but with a slow slow weapon it's not as easy. You can still do so but you have to have perfect timing so as to not be punished yourself.

Another common style you'll see is the curved sword set. While this is equipped it's very difficult to hit it with a slow weapon. Even if you dodge his multi hit jump spin attack, they can do so straight away again so don't punish yet. Making matters worse is power within, great combustion, and fireball spells. PW and GC are easy peasy to punish.. the fireball is a roll through and swing. Be careful though 40 endurance BARELY guards a single attack while PW is up.

The "gimme" phase of this fight is it's mage setup. In this loadout they'll cast powerful magicks in your general direction. Simply stay near it and circle around, only thing you really HAVE to dodge is the sorcery that summons a sword in a circle around it. When soul stream is unleashed.. go to town man, it's your shot (don't blow it by being overly greedy though).

The last (I think) of it's first phase loadouts is the spear and miracle one. In this phase do NOT attack after light attacks, only do so after they've thrown their weight into a poke. Failure to abide by this will have you skewered like a stuck pig crying for mercy. Oh and in case ALL THIS isn't bad enough it can throw a regen on itself I think.. good luck unkindled! Phase 1 is the most difficult unless...you never played Dark Souls 1 (in which case oh God you poor person go play it now!)

It's also an advantage if you have played Dark Souls 1 because phase 2 is in most respects just like the final boss of Dark Souls 1. Boss has a grab, roll through and poke to punish. If you see the boss "winding up" slowly looking at you.. GET OUT NOW! Roll away for all that's good because if not you'll be juggled worse than Rachel when I play Taokaka. No seriously a 5 hit juggle is what's coming after that. Even IF you somehow get behind him during this it's NOT recommended to punish right afterwards due to the.. well the explosion.
