This video started from Chephren Lake to Waterfowl Lake Campground. This is a 7-km return hike with an elevation gain of 80 m. The trail is wide and straightforward, but several sections can be quite muddy.
The lake takes its name from Mt Chephren (pronounced kefren), which rises from its western shore. The peak's pyramid shape suggested the name, which refers to the Pharoah who built the second of Egypt's three great pyramids.
