It’s common for friends to argue about a lot of things. In fact, best friends argue about the simplest things. As for self-proclaimed soulmates Jimin and Taehyung, they argue about dumplings. Yes, dumplings.
VMIN has a duet for BTS's album Map of the Soul: 7 called "Friends" and it recalled a lot of Jimin and Taehyung’s inside history together. One particular line caught a lot of ARMY's attention: “Our memories are each a movie on its own. The dumpling incident would be a comedy movie yeah yeah.”
Since this “dumpling incident” was never brought up by VMIN or even the rest of the BTS members, fans were really curious about it . An ARMY took to Weverse to ask: “Taehyung or Jimin, please explain the dumpling incident to us!” Taehyung simply replied, “It was Team Eat-After-Dancing vs Team Eat-While-Dancing.”
Months later, Jimin did a live broadcast and was asked about his and Taehyung’s “dumpling incident.” Jimin shared that he wanted to eat the dumplings after their dance practice, but Tae insisted to eat the dumplings while practicing because he was hungry.
The simple situation turned chaotic when VMin wouldn’t give up on their decisions. The “War of the Dumpling” became too much for the other members that they forced Jimin and Taehyung to talk things through outside.
However, the pair couldn’t settle their differences and continued to argue. But after a much-needed break from each other, Jimin and V finally ended their fight. The "dumpling incident" may sound petty to some, but this is exactly the kind of topic that best friends/soulmates argue about.
Meanwhile, one of the clips from BTS Memories 2021 shows a possible "Dumpling Incident" part 2. Fortunately, Hobi was there to break another possible petty fight between VMIN.
Based on their smiling faces, that moment was nothing compared to the "dumpling incident." But knowing how petty Jimin and Tae could get, Hobi made sure to break it before it escalates into something big.
