Hobi Forgetting He's Popular
2,069Hobi was already popular even before he joined BTS. But it still shocks him when fans scream out his name.
While walking in the streets of LA during the filming of BTS's American Hustle Life, someone recognized Hobi. His reaction was priceless. Not realizing his popularity, Hobi casually signed an autograph in the middle of the street. Hobi then shared how he felt that moment, and his giggle was adorable!
That was back in 2014, so I understand Hobi's reaction. But even when BTS was already selling out tickets to their tours, Hobi still had the same shock reaction. Just look at him being surprised and excited seeing his face on the big screen. I don't think he has an idea that his face is set as a wallpaper of hundreds of thousands of ARMY's phones.
Hobi was also visibly shocked that ARMY knew the lyrics to his song. He has no idea that he makes us sing in Korean in our sleep. How much more are the English lines?
When Hobi came as a dance mentor for the show Under19, he was so sweet and humble for bringing some snacks for the trainees. And despite his superstardom status, Hobi looked shy after seeing the boys' overwhelming reaction. He even took time to sign their shirts, and Hobi looked like he had no idea it was a big deal for them.
In fact, Hobi often forgets how popular he is and reveals his upcoming plans. Hobi even laughed when his parents made some sort of a shrine for him in their backyard. I mean, why not? He's THE Jung Hoseok!
Hobi does regular things as if he's not one of the most popular people in the world. Despite being a worldwide celebrity, Hobi tries to blend in with the crowd and doesn't demand the spotlight to be on him. And despite his impressive net worth, Hobi buys snacks from regular food stalls.
Hobi forgetting his popularity is actually the result of his humility. Being humble is important to Hobi that he reminds idols to have that attitude.
Unfortunately, Hobi's humility and forgetting his popularity have a down side. Super eager fans can easily cross the line, making Hobi nervous.
Hobi must have realized that walking alone is not that easy to do anymore, and that he should set some boundaries with. So the "Important Business" line was born.
