Hogwarts Legacy PS5 has Excessive Volumetric Fog
1Hogwarts Legacy On PlayStation 5 and possible the Xbox Series X | S consoles the indoor and even outdoor volumetric fog is excessive.
Running around in and out of buildings you can see how nice the game can look for a split second without the fog. Sadly the atmospheric quality and effect of the fog surrounding a massive castle is overshadowed by the fact that somehow all indoor settings have fog. Which doesn’t make any sense
As you can see in the video the fog is used to hide lazy development work of hiding pop-in characters and textures etc. merely a loading trick.
In PC this can be disabled with a simple command line of 0 for the volumetric fog in a .ini file.
The same should be done here on consoles if the developer cared for the user experience
