We caught up with Ben, Managing Director of Golf & Tours, on Hole 15, The Old Course, St Andrews, Scotland.
"Hi there, this is Ben from Golf & Tours, on the 15th hole at The Old Course, St Andrews. This is where it starts to get serious, because you’re coming home. The town of St Andrews is getting bigger every time you hit the ball, and you know in the back of your mind that the Road Hole and the famous 18th are only just a couple of holes away. But you can’t let that get to the forefront because you’ve still got this hole and also the 16th to play as well."
Sounds like Ben’s trying to tell us we need to concentrate and not get too far ahead of ourselves and just enjoy the 15th!

Hole 15 – Cartgate – Par 4, 455yds
The drive on the 15th has to be hit straight at a church steeple between two round mounds. Known locally as Ms Grange’s bosoms, and thought to be named after prominent local 19th century golfer Ms Agnus Granger. There are several deep pot bunkers slightly further down the fairway. While at the green, another deep hazard gathers any shot hit short, and slightly left. The secret here is club selection, both from the tee and into a large green, which always appears slightly closer than it actually is.
Most players are happy to escape with par on this tough par 4.
