Hollow Knight Pacifist Run (Minimal Kills)
519Redoing the challenge suggested by Duosora to complete Hollow Knight while killing as few enemies as possible. I am grateful for the information provided by Eklipser and SnowOfAllTrades about completing a pacifist run (and that they discussed how to do one a good while ago) and also EarthWyrm Gaming for pointing out a better method to get soul for the Elder Baldur blocking Greenpath.
I'm pretty sure this is the minimal amount of kills needed with the current patch. With downpatching to be able to hit the switch in Watcher's Spire through the wall you should be able to skip killing the Giant Sentry. Warping back to benches would speed up the run (plus allowing you to skip breaking geo deposits to open Crossroads and Greenpath stagways early on), but I'm not fond of that method (plus climbing out of the Abyss without double jump and avoiding pogoing the enemies was a bit fun). Upgrading the nail was unnecessary but with all that extra geo from an arcane egg I felt like spending it.
There's still a lot of flubs with this run (Uumuu, ugh) but overall it completes the challenge pretty well.
Side note, while I do try to prevent environmental deaths as much as possible it's not always avoidable. The husks in False Knight's room will die even if you lure them out of the room. Pogoing for the primal aspid skip to Hornet 2 kind of goes against the challenge but it does prevent two kills in Beast's Den.
