43Some of you may be aware of the hidden Rainbow Gem that's in the game. There has been some speculation going around regarding this hidden and unfinished feature, such as that it's going to be exclusive to the Extra Stage when it comes out, etc. etc.
Some people think the Rainbow Gem is going to be a hodgepodge of all the other color gems (because it's a rainbow honhonhon). Just for fun I decided to mod the game a little bit to make the Rainbow Gem selectable, and, because by default it has absolutely no functionality whatsoever, make it a hodgepodge of all the color gems!
So, what does this mean? Well, it means
a) your shots set enemies on fire,
b) grazing shoots lasers,
c) you get two extra options,
d) your movement speed increases while unfocused,
e) your shots deal splash damage,
f) your shots can freeze enemies,
g) you can wrap across screen edges and your bomb gives you a temporary barrier!
The reason your shots can't wrap is due to a strange "bug" that causes wrapping shots to break the other shot effects, such as fire and splash damage. But this shot type is so ludicrously OP already, this hardly matters.
I'm not a Lunatic player whatsoever and the furthest I got on Lunatic with any of the regular shot types was Shiran's midboss spell. Everything else was entirely new territory for me here.
So far I have only tried it with Reimu but the other players at least don't crash the game, so that's good enough in my book.
