In this video we are building a fire pit out of concrete cinder blocks. Dimensions are 48x48 inches on the outside, 32x32 inches on the inside and a height of 32x32 inches.

First we dug 8 inches into the ground. We then tampered the ground with a 10x10 hand tamper multiple times. We then used paver base and sand to level out pavers on the bottom. We stacked three tiers of concrete cinder blocks vertically and then had one cinder blocked turned horizontally on the north side so that we could catch a north wind and get tremendous air flow into the fire pit with a dryer hose.

In fact, we end up getting to much oxygen in the fire and turn the firepit into a blast furnace on accident by having the vent open and it forced us to keep it more then half way closed for safety.

This build cost less then $40 since we had all the tools prior and it is a extremely durable, fire resistance, long lasting, and efficient way to build your own fire pit.
