Hello everybody and welcome back to The Mystery Channel! I'm your host Mr_E, and I know it's been a while since I since I uploaded a video, so I thought I might take a whack at reading one of my favorite poems.

I love poetry, and the tale of Horatius has been a particular favorite of mine ever since I was a boy. If the mood strikes me again - and if I have the time - maybe I'll record more readings.

The following poem is by Thomas Babington Macaulay and recounts the courage of Horatius Cocles in his battle with the Roman army against the invading Etruscans during the late 6th century BC.

The story of Horatius is described in Plutarch's "Life of Publicola."

There's a few mistakes here or there but I hope that I've done it justice!
