Hornby R782 | BR 0-4-0ST | Class 0F "Smokey Joe" | Steam Engine | OO Gauge | Review | HD
This is a review and an unboxing video of the Hornby R782 BR 0-4-0ST Class 0F "Smokey Joe" Steam Engine OO gauge model train that has only just recently joined my fleet of model trains. This is just a wee 0-4-0 steam locomotive as this is currently the only one I have at the moment and this one is known as "Smokey Joe" as per the writing on the sides.
The model is the newer made in china model that has the upgraded motor and it is a very fast locomotive that can outrun most other UK model trains and these models have earned the title of "pocket rockets" because of their compact size that makes them idea for small layouts but do also boast an impressive top speed as well. I will be getting the older Hornby Railways variant that was made in England during the 1980's and 1990's that I will cover in another video. I do like to compare the old and new models to see what has changed so keep an eye out for a video of that one to come in the future.
The test train used with this model train was my "tea and biccies" (Tea and Biscuits) train as I used the Typhoo Tea and my McVities wagons that are from Hornby and Lima that will give this small model train a decent length train to test its haulage power and traction torque.
