HADOUKEN! The famous Ryu from the Street Fighter series is here in the world of Hot Wheels Unleashed! He brings great overall stats; max speed and acceleration, and near perfect mobility! Awesome! You'd think that with such a stat pool, Ryu would automatically be an SSS Rank vehicle. Well, not exactly... If you take a look at his Boost stat at Legendary, it's a Level 2 Free bar, which greatly holds him back on speed tracks and also giving him no flight capabilities. He is more at home on technical tracks thanks to his high handling stat.
Speaking of, Ryu is quite balanced. Nothing too grippy, nor too responsive like some other vehicles, but he has a decent enough reaction at high boost speeds. His drifting abilities are more 'middle-of-the-road' with slight understeer on a couple high speed corners along with noticeable speed drops on longer ones. For a Level 2 Free boost vehicle, Ryu becomes overshadowed by two better vehicles: Vega thanks to his bugged speed stat, and GT-Scorcher due to its superior stats that compensate for it's weak boost.
All in all, Ryu is a standard mid S Rank vehicle. If you're looking for the best Street Fighter car that is NOT bugged, use Chun-Li; her better boost stat carries her near the top of Rank SSS.
