In the 1960s and 1970s psychologist Walter Mischel conducted the now infamous “Marshmallow Experiment”, in which children were offered a choice between ONE sugary treat now, or waiting about 15 minutes to get TWO.

The purpose of school is to teach you to the basic skills to work in a factory and then babysit you until you're old enough to do so. If you feel like you weren't prepared for what life is throwing at you, you probably weren't, and it's not your fault. If school is going to let us down, we need to be the master's of our education.
