With rumours swirling around that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Battlefield 4 will be released at less than 1080p, in order to maintain 60 frames per second, we take the opportunity to look at what graphical impact this could have via the PC Open Beta.

Of course, this is largely guesswork and very much an imperfect comparison. Compression was inherent in this particular video recording workflow, so excuse some of the compression. However, this will also be best viewed at 1080p on your gaming screen or TV, so you can potentially pause and view freeze-frames.

PC Specs: Intel Core i5 3570k O/C 4.2Ghz, 8GB RAM, Radeon 7850 1GB.

"High" graphics settings used at all resolutions. 1080p with no AA, 1440x900 ("900p" equivalent) with 2x MSAA, 720p with 4xMSAA.
