Formerly the War Lord of the Æsir, Týr lost his position when Odin defeated him in a battle of martial skills. Fairly conceding defeat, Týr accepted his new role as a loyal lieutenant to Odin. The All-Father rewarded his trust by making Týr his confidant and chief lawgiver.

After Odin had Loki's son Fenrir imprisoned on grounds the former thought false, Týr would keep him company and eventually gained his trust. When Odin reapproached to bind Fenrir with the Dwarven-crafted Gleipnir, a scuffle ensued and in the process, Týr lost his arm to Fenrir. With the trust between them broken, Týr left Fenrir atop Lyngvi.

As the Great Catastrophe approached, Týr and the other eight Norse Isu uploaded their DNA data into Yggdrasil to be later redistributed into the human gene pool. Millennia later, in 842 CE, Týr was successfully reincarnated as Sigurd Styrbjornson.
