How Does the Indycar/F1 Hybrid Compare with a Modern F1?
The SuperGP mod for Assetto Corsa was released earlier today and the idea behind it is to produce a vehicle that combines Indycar and Formula 1 technology. The outcome is rather interesting and it is interesting is a good way. The SuperGP features a high revving V10 engine from early 2000's F1 and the bodywork is inspired by modern day Indycars. This car does not exist in the real world but it is an experiment to see what the combination of these two categories could actually be like. The car produces less downforce than an F1 car and therefore could make for some closer racing.
The 2019 Spec F1 car pulled a time of 1:21.281
The SuperGP pulled a time of 1:22.684
Time difference: 1.403 seconds
