HOW DOES THIS WORK? | Simple 2 Way Flying Machine

I love the idea that slime blocks and pistons can work together to make machines that fly. I, however, am not good at building them. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate when someone else builds one. This flying machine I found works in 2 directions, and travels between 3 different points, and it stops at all 3, regardless of its direction. All you need to do is press the button to tell it which direction you want it to go. This map even has a simple example on how it all works. It's really awesome, in my opinion.
