How Good Is PS3 Emulation? Can you tell the difference?

In this video I have the identical game running on a real PS3 (hooked up over component video fed into the OSSC which converts it to HDMI which is then captured by an ELGATO HD60 S) next the the game running on the RPCS3 PS3 emulator on Windows 10. There are small colour differences but that is more down to the Component having a slightly different colour taint.

Both versions have their audio playing simultaneously with the gameplay starting at the same time. Both 'systems' run at the same speed with the audio staying in sync. Enjoy.

PC: Ryzen5 2600X, 16Gb 3000Mhz DDR4, RX580 8Gb, 1080p screen

The source footage fed into Youtube was 15Gb large - 1080p no MPEG artefacting. I am curious what YouTube will eventually make of it. Outrun doesn't seem to encode well.

Conclusion: Seeing the game running side by side on real vs emulated hardware and playing the game on both the real hardware vs the emulator is very difficult to distinguish. I think the PS3 has a more solid frametime running at 60fps where the emulator might have the odd micro stutter. But all in all the experience is virtually identical. Quite a feat!
