This month in Rust, I dove into the brand-new Hardcore game mode: no weapon crafting or researching, increased upkeep, fog of war, no team UI, ammo costing 5x more, and sleeping bags on a 15-minute cooldown. The wipe was brutal from the start, with groups snowballing into guns early and forcing me to constantly relocate, until I finally secured Launch Site and turned it into my main base. From clutching an airdrop that gave me a pump shotgun and learning slugs, to winning stacked outnumbered fights, farming high-tier loot, and pulling off big raids, this wipe was packed with high-stakes moments and progression that felt like classic Rust all over again.
