I have little tunes pop into my head ALL the time, and sometimes I record them so I can mess around with them later. This is one of those tunes.

I essentially just figure out how to play it in my head and record what comes out, mistakes and all. If I like the idea enough, I'll come back later and get better takes, and work on it a bit.

It's a bit of a challenge without input monitoring, but if you play with yourself long enough, you get pretty good at it.
